EOC: Devil Wears Prada

This movie is one big job experience. It has nothing to do with fashion and designer clothes, it's all about the way you carry yourself in a job. Starting from the interview Andy shows no incentive other than to pay the rent, she did not look up the company or the person in charge, she did not dress for success and when it came down to the questions she seemed shy and insecure. The only reason she landed that job is because all the other people that would fit the role of model would not fit the role of brains.

Once in the job she still didn't care; she wasn't prepared to take notes, she still did not do more research on the company and she still stood up to the manager who in this case was the holy mother of fashion per say. Once again, this attitude would have landed anyone fired. After a while in the movie she hangs on, she studies up and becomes a successful human being.

The part that might be misleading is that she might be successful because of the way she dresses or her sense of fashion but because she took the time to pay attention to herself and bettered every aspect of her life. From clothes to knowledge she started to impress people. Loving your job, no matter how insignificant doesn't mean that you have to let the job take over you, instead you become the person you want to be, doing what you love and the job pretty much does itself. You live, breathe and be every aspect of your job and success will finally look approachable.

The Swingers EOC

Your business card is your identity. Your profession is your identity. All of this does not mean that you have to give up everything in life for your job; however, if you really love what you do then let it take over. Let your job be something that you love. You will not lose yourself, in contrary you will find a better self when you jump 100% into your passion. If you let your identity define you, you will be prepared for any networking at any time.

The Swingers movie shows how a guy's confidence grows by simply wanting more out of himself and taking himself seriously. His identity is on his card and once he offers it to someone else the conversation grows into more interesting and personal topics. The card shows how serious he is about his profession even though when he talks he does not believe he's very successful. This girl does not believe him, she thinks he's a cool comedian dude with an actual business card that takes his job seriously. This is not only going to get him a date but maybe even more networking resources.

When there are events, parties at bars, random houses, even Vegas, anything is a networking opportunity. One of the guys in the Swingers movie always got the girl because he knew how to talk game, he had confidence in himself and his profession. Although he was not the best and did not have the best gigs, everyone knew him, liked him and let him in through the back alleys of the bars because everyone knew who he was. The meaning of the movie is not “fake it ‘til you make it”, instead the meaning is to be yourself, love what you do, take it serious, be patient and always be confident.

EOC

The Audio Industry has become not only a passion but a lifestyle. I am an Audio Professional. Although I am not a producer yet, I have a Bachelor Degree in Audio Production. I am committed to providing excellent service in the field while expanding my knowledge every day. I work with live sound, studio recording and sound design for films and animation. My favorite projects are mixing music and dialogue, in live environments and inside the studio. I am not afraid of pre production and paperwork, being prepared for a session or a show is essential for success. After growing up around musical talent, I learned to appreciate the sound, feel and meaning for all types of media. Understanding the science and having the heart are required to build a strong foundation for an excellent piece of audio, whether it is music or dialog. Success is not measured in the numbers of shows, projects or sales but in the passion collected into a project and the reward of enjoying the final mix. I am a passionate audio professional with experience in audio editing, mixing, studio recording and live sound.
